Using an Iranian Power of Attorney in the UAE and making a UAE Will remotely
If you are in Iran and need someone to complete a transaction in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah, first obtain the UAE receiver’s exact wording. Iran’s Foreign Ministry publishes a service for authenticating Iranian documents translated by an official translator for presentation to foreign authorities; it identifies the original and the sealed and signed official translation among the required material. Its published FAQ also treats a Power of Attorney made through an Iranian official notary office as an authenticatable document class. UAE MOFA says an outside-UAE document then follows the issuing-country Foreign Ministry and UAE mission route. The UAE Embassy in Tehran currently publishes no detailed POA checklist, so submission, originals, fees and collection must be confirmed before execution. A UAE Will is separate and must be signed personally through the selected registry’s procedure.

The Iran-to-UAE route at a glance
Authentication proves signatures, seals and official capacity in the documentary chain. It does not approve the powers or force a Dubai land authority, UAE bank, court, company registrar or vehicle authority to accept the instrument. The final receiver’s requirements must be obtained before the Iranian notarial and translation work begins.
| Stage | Published or verified step | Decision to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| 1. UAE receiver and transaction | Identify the Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, RAK, Fujairah or federal receiver | Which exact acts, identifiers, language and supporting evidence are required? |
| 2. Iranian execution | Use the Iranian official-notary route that can enter the Foreign Ministry authentication chain | Confirm the signer, witnesses if any, original form and supporting records for this instrument |
| 3. Official translation and Iranian authentication | Iran MFA publishes authentication of documents translated by an official translator for foreign authorities | Confirm the required destination language and the seals/signatures needed on the original and translation |
| 4. UAE mission stage | UAE MOFA assigns an outside-UAE document to UAE Missions Abroad after the issuing-country Foreign Ministry stage | Tehran publishes no detailed POA workflow, so confirm appointment, original, payment and return directly |
| 5. UAE completion and receiver | Complete any assigned UAE MOFA, Arabic translation, notarial or transaction step | The receiving authority—not the authentication stamps—decides whether the authority granted is sufficient |
Iran’s Foreign Ministry authenticates official translations for foreign use
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs describes a service for authentication of Iranian documents translated by an official translator for presentation to foreign authorities. Its published service result identifies the original document and the translation bearing the official translator’s seal and signature among the required material. This supports the Iranian authentication stage; it does not establish one universal POA form.
The Ministry’s FAQ separately states that a Power of Attorney or signature certificate made for a foreign national in an Iranian official notary office is capable of authentication. That confirms وکالتنامه as a document class within the official authentication system, while leaving the notarial requirements and the treatment of each signer and transaction to the competent offices.
Before signing, ask the Iranian notary and Foreign Ministry whether the UAE-facing draft can be executed in its proposed language, whether an official translation must be attached, and which government or judiciary certifications must precede Foreign Ministry authentication. Do not arrange translation first and assume the underlying form will be accepted.

The Tehran mission route must be confirmed case by case
UAE MOFA states that a document issued outside the UAE must first be attested by the Foreign Ministry of the issuing country and can then be attested through the UAE Embassy or Consulate there. Its system assigns the service path according to issuing authority and document type.
The official UAE Embassy in Tehran site currently publishes the mission’s identity and contact page but no public Power of Attorney checklist, document list, appointment rule, courier process, fee or turnaround. This page therefore does not copy operational details from another UAE mission or promise an upload-only process.
Before the Iranian notarial appointment, confirm with the Tehran mission which MOFA application path is active, whether the original and official translation must both be submitted, whether personal attendance or a representative is permitted, how personal and commercial POAs are classified, and how the completed document is returned.

Draft for the UAE receiver, not for an emirate keyword
A Dubai property transfer, Abu Dhabi court matter, Sharjah vehicle transfer, RAK company change and Fujairah bank instruction may share the Iran-to-UAE authentication chain, but they do not share one universal set of powers.
For property, identify the land authority, asset, sale or purchase, mortgage or developer involvement and authority to receive proceeds. For vehicles, separate sale, transfer, export and receipt powers. For companies, identify the entity, licence and corporate act. For banking, obtain the institution’s written wording before signing in Iran.
One substantial Iran-to-UAE corridor therefore answers the changing Iranian stage and routes each UAE task to its actual receiver. Near-identical Iran-to-Dubai, Iran-to-Sharjah, Iran-to-RAK and Iran-to-Fujairah pages would be doorway content and are not published.
Can a person in Iran make a UAE Will remotely?
An Iranian وصیتنامه is not automatically a substitute for a Will registered through a UAE route, and a UAE Will is not automatically effective for an Iranian estate. Authentication cannot answer those cross-border succession questions.
DIFC Courts publishes that an eligible non-Muslim testator need not be UAE-resident and may use a virtual registration appointment, with witnesses joining from anywhere. Abu Dhabi Judicial Department publishes a Civil Will route for a non-UAE citizen regardless of religion, using an English-Arabic template and online notarial attendance after review. Dubai Courts distinguishes online attendance with a valid Emirates ID from passport-only personal appearance.
The registry decision depends on eligibility, religion where relevant, UAE assets, family circumstances, language and attendance—not Iranian nationality alone. The testator must personally execute the Will through the chosen registry; a وکیل acting under a POA cannot sign it instead.

Questions
Can I register a DIFC Will while I am in Iran?
DIFC Courts publishes that an eligible non-Muslim testator need not be UAE-resident and may use a virtual registration appointment. Eligibility, assets, payment access and cross-border effect still require individual confirmation.
آیا وکیل من میتواند وصیتنامهٔ امارات را به جای من امضا کند؟
خیر. وصیتکننده باید وصیتنامه را شخصاً طبق فرآیند مرجع ثبت انتخابشده امضا و ثبت کند. وکالتنامه جای این عمل شخصی را نمیگیرد.
What this page does not do
- The Deedbox prepares UAE-focused documents. It is not an Iranian or UAE authority, not an Iranian notary and not a law firm. It does not translate, authenticate, attest or register documents or Wills.
- This page covers an Iran-to-UAE transaction document. It does not provide an Iranian domestic وکالتنامه or وصیتنامه or decide Iranian law.
- The Persian section is search orientation based on Iranian Foreign Ministry terminology, not an official translation of a UAE instrument or Iranian legal advice.
- The Iranian official notary, Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE Embassy in Tehran, UAE MOFA and final receiver control the current execution, translation, authentication, submission and acceptance requirements.
- The Tehran mission currently publishes no detailed POA checklist; appointment, original-document, fee, courier and timing requirements are therefore not asserted.
- Authentication and attestation verify signatures and seals. They do not approve content or compel a UAE receiver to accept the Power of Attorney.
- The cross-border effect of an Iranian or UAE Will requires appropriately qualified advice in each relevant jurisdiction.
