02 — THE ROUTE

Nobody shows you this part.

A drafted document is a Word file. It becomes a legal instrument only after notarisation or registration — and if you are abroad, after a chain of steps most providers never explain. Here is the whole route, before you pay for any of it.

  1. 01You5 min

    Your instructions

Your country, your document, what it needs to do. Ninety seconds. We tell you which route applies and the total price.

  2. 02UsSame day

    Drafted, Arabic + English

Your document is prepared bilingually, worded for the authority that will receive it — DIFC, ADJD, Dubai Courts or the notary.

  3. 03Us1 day

    Checked against the authority

We check the draft against your instructions and against what the receiving authority publishes it requires, before anything reaches you.

  4. 04YouYour pace

    You approve

You read the actual document, comment, request changes — and approve only when you are satisfied. Nothing is final before this.

  5. 05Us1–2 days

    Notarisation / Will registration

We coordinate the e-notary video call, the DIFC or ADJD registration, or the Dubai Courts appointment — and show you where your case stands.

  6. 06UsOnly if abroad

    Embassy + MOFAIC

For documents signed overseas: home-country notary, home foreign ministry, UAE Embassy, then MOFAIC in the Emirates. We track every stamp.

  7. 07UsKept

    Into your Deedbox

The finished document lands in your vault — every version, every approval, every expiry reminder. And the people you name can reach it when it matters.

Wills are also registered with the DIFC, ADJD or Dubai Courts route that fits you — we confirm which before you pay.

03 — PRICING

One number. The number you actually pay.

Every price below is our professional fee. Government and registry fees are set and charged separately by the authority, and we identify the published amount — or say when the authority does not publish one — before you commit.

04 — THE VAULT

Everyone else hands you a document and disappears.

A deed box is the locked box a solicitor keeps your title deeds, will and powers of attorney in. That is the idea, rebuilt properly: not a file emailed once and lost, but an account you can open in three years and find everything exactly where you left it.

And if something happens to you, the people you name get access — with verification, not a password. This is a Wills vault.

Illustrative workflow — sample data, not customer documents.

  • Every version of every document, never overwritten
  • Who approved what, and precisely when
  • Arabic and English copies side by side
  • Invoices and receipts, downloadable any time
  • Reminders before a document expires or needs renewing
  • Secure sharing when a bank, court or buyer asks for it
  • Amendments, replacements and revocations tracked in one place
  • Verified access for the people you name

What happens in the UAE if you die without a Will?

  1. 01The applicable inheritance framework decides the default shares.
  2. 02A UAE bank may block an account when it has evidence of death.
  3. 03Without a registered appointment, no guardianship instruction is recorded in that route.

A registered UAE Will records instructions for the assets and appointments it covers.

Questions

The things people actually ask.

Short answers first. If something is not clear, ask us before you pay rather than after.

Which UAE Will is right for me — DIFC, ADJD or Dubai Courts?

It depends on your situation. DIFC publishes detailed eligibility and permits virtual registration from abroad. ADJD publishes a non-Muslim wills process ending with a video-call appointment. We have not verified equivalent first-party detail for Dubai Courts, so we confirm what is known and what still needs authority confirmation before you choose.

Can I register a Will if I am not in the UAE?

DIFC Courts states that an eligible person can register virtually from anywhere and does not need UAE residence. ADJD publishes a process ending in a video-call appointment but does not state overseas eligibility on the page reviewed. We do not promise a Dubai Courts remote route without direct authority confirmation.

Can I make a UAE Power of Attorney if I am not in the UAE?

A UAE authority may accept an official Power of Attorney in place of an absent owner. Whether a UAE digital notary route is available, or the document must be signed and authenticated abroad, depends on the document, country and receiving authority. We confirm the evidence available for the specific route rather than promising one route for everyone.

Does a drafted document mean it has been notarised?

No. Drafting and notarisation are separate steps. A drafted document becomes a legal instrument only once it has been notarised or registered by the relevant authority, and for some overseas cases only after further legalisation. We prepare and coordinate; we do not notarise, register or issue documents ourselves.

Does the document have to be in Arabic?

Not under one universal rule. MOFA publishes that its courier route accepts an original in Arabic or English, or one accompanied by a legally certified translation. A receiving court, department or notary may impose a separate Arabic requirement, so language is confirmed for the actual authority and transaction.

How much does a Will or Power of Attorney cost in Dubai?

Our professional fee is AED 2,499 for a DIFC Will, AED 1,499 for a Dubai Courts or ADJD Will, AED 790 for a Vehicle POA, AED 990 for a General POA, AED 1,290 for a Property POA and AED 1,590 for a Litigation POA. Authority, registry, notary and attestation charges are separate; where an authority publishes a figure we show it, and where it does not we say so.

Can a Power of Attorney be revoked?

A Power of Attorney can be revoked through the process required by the relevant authority, but The Deedbox does not currently prepare revocation instruments online. Dubai Land Department publishes its own cancellation service for a property POA; other documents and authorities require their own confirmation.

Are you a law firm?

No. We are a legal-document service, not a law firm, and using us does not create a lawyer–client relationship. We prepare documents and coordinate notarisation, registration and attestation with the authorities and licensed parties who carry those out. Where a matter needs legal representation or advice on your position rather than a document, we will say so plainly and point you in the right direction rather than take work we should not.

The Deedbox is a legal-document service. It is not a notary office and not a law firm. We prepare documents and coordinate notarisation, registration, attestation and legalisation through the appropriate licensed parties and authorities. Will registration is performed by the relevant authority — the DIFC Courts Wills Service, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, Dubai Courts or the Notary Public; we prepare and coordinate, we do not register. Preparing or paying for a document does not mean it has been notarised, registered or accepted by any authority — those are separate steps, and we show you exactly where your case stands at each one. Nothing on this page is legal advice.
